To our Family of Customers, Dealers and Friends

Where do I start? As you probably know by now our John Deere Dealership was completely destroyed on Friday, May 4th, 2007, at approximately 9:30pm. The whole town of Greensburg took a direct hit and was completely destroyed. Unfortunately 12 lives were lost, and after seeing the town it is very amazing that we didn't lose more. President Bush declared Greensburg a Major National Disaster and has been out to see the devastation. I really want you to know even through such an overwhelming situation it is nice to have so many valued relationships. The next morning we had over 100 valued customers and friends converge together to salvage whatever we could. Heavy equipment and containers were brought in as well. It was like they knew exactly what had to be done. It is a very humbling experience. We worked from 8 to 5 the first day then the National Guard forced us out of town. It is unbelievable that we were able to get that much inventory out in such a short period; it couldn't have been done without the overall generosity of so many volunteers. To top it off that night it rained 8 inches and all of the inventory that we got out the first day would have been ruined. The last two weeks of dealing with this situation has taught me that I really appreciate being an American, I value friendships and the unbelievable generosity of you all. Thank you so much for all of the contributions to not only the fund set up for our employees, but also to the fund for all the victims in Greensburg disaster relief. There have been so many people calling to volunteer to help in so many different ways, financially, machinery, furniture, appliances, food, clothing, labor, or just concerned and so caring. We can't begin to thank everyone enough! We don't really know how we will ever repay everyone; we have been so overwhelmed that so many friends have stepped up. It is very heart warming and makes us so appreciative of everything that you are. Our store is going to be rebuilt back in Greensburg and we will survive this horrible tragedy. It won't be forgotten and neither will you.
