When you talk about tractors, most of the time the conversations are about how much horsepower it has, what kind of transmission it has, how much weight it can lift or tow, is it a John Deere or a Ford, or any number of other technical aspects.
While all those technical aspects are important to know and understand, there is aspect of tractors that is often neglected, and that is accessories. People spend tons of money outfitting their vehicles with all kinds of customization, and now it the tractor’s turn. Now I don’t expect you to purchase 20-inch rims for your Case IH, but there are some accessories that make your tractor much more user friendly.
1. Agricultural GPS System-
Agricultural guidance systems have greatly advanced productivity and efficiency. The guidance system allows you to cover the ground you need to, with minimal mistakes. While guidance systems have been available for some time now, GPS allows you to increase accuracy, which in turn will equal lower fuel cost and time spent completing a job. You can drive faster, cover more ground, and have the confidence that the job is being done right. While these systems can be a bit pricey, they are well worth it.
2. Tractor Radios-
Some months you are in your tractor more than you are in your house. Spending hours out in the field with no sounds other than the sound of the engine can take its toll. While there isn’t a magic tool to make the hours pass more quickly, you can install a radio in your tractor to at least provide some music for your listening pleasure. Tractor radios come in a variety of different sizes, shapes, and prices. It is up to you how much you spend on this accessory.
3. A Comfortable Seat-
Some people may not see the reason to buy an upgraded seat for their tractor, but let them try sitting all day in a seat that feels like you are sitting on a pile of rocks, and I am sure they will quickly change their minds. There are many options when it comes to tractor seats, but most important is that you find one that gives you support where you need it most.
Tractors are made to work hard and get the job done, but there is nothing wrong with making the work a little easier and more enjoyable. With these three must have accessories, your tractor will be tricked and ready to get back to work in no time.
