Hello, and thanks for stopping by. I'm Dan Brim, owner of Brim Tractor Company, and this year marks our 40th anniversary!
The history of Brim Tractor begins with the history of Bill Brim, my father. Brought up on a dairy farm in Longview, WA, Bill was only 22 when he became part-owner of his first tractor dealership. Bill was in the tractor business for forty years, from 1947 to 1987. Bill and my mother, Margaret, founded Brim Tractor Company in Lynden in 1967. In their 20 years at the helm, my parents built the business on trust, integrity and strong Christian ethics. Bill and Margaret not only weathered the constantly changing industry, they were instrumental in shaping it.
For example, Bill brought the first hydraulic-arm Bomford mower into the U.S. from England, which transformed the maintenance of roadsides and freeways. Brim Tractor was also on the frontier of computer technology when my older brothers, Bob, Alan and Dave computerized the company in the late '70s. In order to market the software they developed, Bob and Dave formed the company, Dealer Information Systems Corporation (DIS Corp), still going strong today.
In 1984, I came home from college and began working in the business. In 1988, Alan bought Brim Tractor from Bill, and had a successful run. In 1997, my wife Teresa and I bought the company from Alan.
These days my parents are happily retired and living next door to us. Teresa and I have three beautiful children, Jennifer, Jessica and Justin. In 2000, we purchased Burlington New Holland, in 2003 we opened our third branch in Issaquah, and now in 2005, we have opened our fourth branch in Salem, Oregon. We are very grateful for these blessings and will continue to operate Brim Tractor Company under the same principles of trust and integrity my father established over 40 years ago.
On behalf of all the Brims, we thank you for your years of patronage and continued support.
