Description

1999 JOHN DEERE 9550 – 4,085/2,737 HOURS – 2WD – WALKER – CHOPPER – DELUXE CORN/BEAN Price: $39,900 Here is a clean, straight John Deere 9550 walker combine with approximately 4,085 engine hours and 2,737 separator hours. This is a 2WD machine, but it is a very nicely equipped conventional walker combine and still makes a lot of sense for the farmer wanting a dependable corn-and-soybean machine without spending six figures on a newer combine. We went through the original build information on this machine, and it was equipped from the factory with the 220 HP engine, deluxe corn/bean package, heavy-duty variable-speed feederhouse, yield monitor with mapping/display, straw chopper, adjustable chaffer, 17-foot unloading auger and 30.5L-32 drive tires. HOURS Engine Hours: 4,085 Separator Hours: 2,737 FACTORY EQUIPMENT & FEATURES 220 HP John Deere diesel engine Conventional straw-walker separation system 2WD Hydrostatic ground drive Heavy-duty variable-speed feederhouse Deluxe corn and bean package GrainStar yield monitor Yield mapping capability with display Black cylinder bars with filler plates/inserts Dual-range cylinder drive General-purpose multi-step straw walkers General-purpose adjustable chaffer Regular-duty clean-grain elevator and auger system 17-foot unloading auger Slide-away straw chopper with deflector Adjustable rear axle Grain-tank adjustable cross-auger cover Windshield washer Field-office/training seat AM/FM radio Beater-grate curtain 4-inch wheel-hub spacers TIRES Front: 30.5L-32 Rear: 14.9-24 The tires have good usable tread remaining and fit this machine well for a 2WD combine. CAB The cab is actually one of the things we like about this combine. For the age and hours, it is clean and complete with: Air conditioning Heat AM/FM radio Instructor/training seat Hydrostatic propulsion control Header controls Grain loss monitor Yield monitor/display Good visibility Clean operator area This is still a comfortable combine to run for somebody wanting a straightforward machine without all the electronics and emissions systems found on today's combines. WALKER MACHINE The 9550 is a conventional straw-walker combine, which is still desirable to a lot of operators who like the simplicity, grain quality and ease of servicing these machines. It is especially well suited for: Corn Soybeans Wheat Small grains Mixed crop operations For someone running moderate acreage, a good 9550 can still harvest a tremendous amount of crop for a fraction of the cost of a newer rotary combine. FEEDERHOUSE & CROP PACKAGE This machine was built with the heavy-duty variable-speed feederhouse and deluxe corn/bean package. That is exactly the setup we would want to see on a Midwestern corn-and-soybean machine. The feederhouse floor, drum and surrounding components show normal wear consistent with the hours, but the overall assembly is complete and presents well. RESIDUE MANAGEMENT Equipped with the slide-away straw chopper and adjustable deflector. The chopper gives the operator better residue sizing and distribution behind the combine and is especially useful when following harvest with minimum tillage or no-till. CONDITION This is a clean combine for the age and hours. The exterior sheet metal is straight, paint still has very good color and shine, the cab is clean, tires are good and the overall machine appears to have been cared for. It is not being represented as a restored or low-hour machine. It has normal wear in the feederhouse, crop-contact areas and other high-use locations, but the machine presents substantially better than many 9550s of the same vintage. We would rather sell it for what it is: a clean, honest, well-equipped 9550 that still has plenty of useful harvest life left in it. WHY THIS COMBINE MAKES SENSE There is still a strong market for clean 9500/9510/9550-series walker combines because they
