48 Knife Drum

The K101200 is a 48-knife cutter drum designed to fit John Deere® 6000 series and 7200-7580 series self-propelled forage harvesters (SPFH). This drum works with cutter knives to efficiently cut harvested material.

This cutter drum features angled knife brackets, designed to accommodate K63136 corn knives or K69500 grass knives for versatile cutting options. It includes a Kooima Ag exclusive removable center shaft, making maintenance and replacement easier. Built for enhanced durability, the drum has a thicker wrap, reinforced sidewalls, and a center support plate to improve rigidity and extend wear life. 

Control Your Length of Cut – The number of knives on the drum affects the cut length:

• 40-Knife Drum – Produces a longer cut length of forage.
• 48-Knife Drum (this model) – Provides a balanced, mid-range cut length of forage.
• 56-Knife Drum – Produces a shorter cut length of forage.

Installation & Replacement:

• Install according to factory settings.
• Requires K71387 hub and  K19M8610 bolt (sold separately).
• Inspect regularly for wear; hairline cracks between knife brackets indicate it's time for a replacement.
• Replace the drum when knife brackets are wearing thin or if the bearing spins on the shaft.
