High Performance Mixer Knife - Serrated Inserts

The K385004 high-performance carbide insert style mixer wagon knife fits a variety of mixers including JAY-LOR®, Penta™, Kirby™, and MaxiMixer™ feed wagons. It features a long-lasting design and a more aggressive cutting edge. This knife provides excellent performance for mixing livestock rations, such as those used on dairy farms, feedlots, and beef cattle operations, making it ideal for preparing TMR (Total Mixed Ration). TMR is created by thoroughly mixing various feed ingredients in a mixer wagon, ensuring that all components are evenly distributed for optimal livestock nutrition.

The K385004 mixer knife uses a solid carbide insert edge providing 2-3 times the cutting life of the blade over a standard tungsten coated steel edge. The additional, Kooima Ag patented serrated design, provides a more aggressive cut which is essential in longer, dry hay rations. If you are looking to get even more cutting out of your mixer we recommend adding a Bale Slicer K385070 or K385071. A Bale Slicer is a great product for farmers that are wanting to shorten hay particle length within the same amount of mixing time.

The body of this blade is made from a long-lasting high wear AR400 material, while this material is proven to be very wear-resistant it will wear out faster than the carbide inserts. A visual inspection must be made to determine the knife's body integrity. If too much is allowed, the potential to lose the carbide inserts is increased. These are installed using factory settings, no special tools are required. There are 2 bolt kits available for this knife the K385002BK (Grade 8) and the K385002BK5 (Grade 5). However, we recommend using the Grade 8 bolt kit vs the Grade 5 as the knife will outlast the Grade 5 hardware.
